Inspired by: LSD

Lauren Santo Domingo that is.

Here is a picture of her apartment recently featured on Vogue.com. There are a lot of cool things in this photo, but we looove that bulldog:
because he reminds us of one of our own favorite shop pups:
He never has to be fed or taken out at inopportune times, in fact, rarely makes a peep...
And who wouldn't want their own chrome skull to kiss?

Well, you're in luck

Heads Up

I love this space designed by the ever eclectically stylish Kelly Wearstler, whose beautiful designs never lack an element of the unexpected. Nestled in this classic space splashed with color, we spotted a familiarly interesting piece:
Originally drawn to these not only for their interesting quality, but also because it seemed they would make for a very cool pair of lamps, we were happy to stumble upon the way Kelly would use something like this mixed in with a space where you wouldn't expect to find them.
$145 each

Always seems like a good lesson to keep in mind, that while style is essential the unexpected is what can make your space uniquely yours, interesting, and special.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Crazy for Coral

Amelita and I have loved shells from the beginning.  So delicate in beautiful colors, they bring an elegant element of nature to any room. Whether placed on a coffee table as if to take the place of a sculpture, or added to book shelves as the small touches that really bring a room together, they stand like little treasures, reminders of places elsewhere and the beauty of the natural world.

We found one of our pieces of coral completely irresistible to buy and I think this cover from Elle Decor might be somewhat responsible...

I can't get this room out of my head. It's so beautiful and when you really look at it, there's not too much to it, each item just "packs a lot of punch" for lack of a better expression phrase. While the shells are prominently displayed, nothing is overpowered-- shells do not have to be beachy by any means. And conveniently enough, we have the majority of the items you'd need to create a similar space:
Basically the exact same coral sculpture as on the cover:

I don't know how to describe the effect it has in a space, but it's really something. It has a captivating quality to it that in my opinion makes it all the more valuable. Simply, it's beautiful.

We also have quite the variety of shells perfect for shelves:

And these are just plain cool:
$575

Then bring the look together with classic neutral staples and fun accessories:

$1,050

We love poufs too!
Only $109!

Despite the weather outside, feeling inspired? Come see us! Happy Saturday!

From Our Place to Yours

These chairs are from one of our very favorite lines and we think they look extra-fab in Cece's house. They are stylish, neutral and timeless, and so fun when paired with bright patterned pillows that we picked up while in Greece last summer.
They are such a fun splash of color to add to any room, and were well worth carrying all the way home and through customs...

I've even heard of a few people using them without pillow inserts as place-mats...very clever...Love it all.

Just Arrived!

So, the first time I saw this image I fell in love-- it went into my "ideas" folder with the intention of painting something similarly fun and happy. I have seen it several times subsequently and after running across it on Lonny a couple of weeks ago, I had to slap myself for not having thought to carry them before. I love paper- don't you? So happy to unpack all of these precious cards from Rifle Paper Co.

They are so charming and sweet, perfect for miscellaneous thank you letters still looming on your to-do list,

a cute little "just because" gift,
a cute signature monogram for fun notes to friends:

or perhaps even a lovie note...

Valentines day is a month from today after all....

Either way, we're obsessed. I suspect you soon will be too.

P.S. As always, we are more than happy to place special orders and their turn-around is very quick.

Inspired By: Contemporary Comfort

Their Lee couch in a unique texture and the shade of yellow brings the room together , warming the space, providing comfort and creating a space separate from the dining area.
There is nothing not to love about this space we showed you a couple of posts ago.  A facade from 1936

introduces you into a completely remodeled contemporary space where no detail was overlooked.  The house is so unique and serves as a clear and clever reflection of those who live inside, Tom and Lauren Moorman.
Love the mixture of glass and wood. The glass fixture doesn't block the open space, and the big long wood table feels homey and provides the most fun place for the best dinner parties in town... Also love the position of the mount over the fireplace, aligned left to correspond with other angular elements of the space.
It's difficult to choose a favorite element,  but maybe above all it's the feeling of warmth executed in a minimalist environment that comes from a combination of fine elegance, clean lines, mixed in with comfort, history, and sentimental keepsakes collected over the years. The decorative elements, materials, and open space provide a welcoming feel that never cease to entertain your eyes.
Beautiful wood and soapstone counters create a bar and kitchen.

Light comes in to the kitchen through beautiful clear and colored  glasses.
The "man room."

Striped bench. Comfortable, stylish, and cool.

Subtle details cause a double-take, while fun patterns make the home a happy one.
Patterned grass cloth on the walls.

Beautiful wallpaper and wood door in the powder room.

Their space most definitely provides testament to the idea that every detail counts.
Vizsla approved.

We'd love to help you perfect any details! Hope to see you soon!
